Our Practitioners

Neil Evans

DO ND (Hons)

I graduated from the British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy in 1990. After qualifying I spent three years working in Hawkes Bay before returning to the UK. I then worked in a large multidisciplinary practice in East Yorkshire for eleven years. I was a partner in the practice for five years. We had a team of eight osteopaths, two acupuncturists, a homeopath, Alexander technique practitioner and physiotherapist offering a comprehensive health care approach.

In 2004 my wife and I decided to move to Hawkes Bay to live. The relaxed, outdoor lifestyle plus the weather were too much to resist.

I started the clinic in October 2004 and since then the practice has grown. I now have four other osteopaths working with me in the clinic.

I see a variety of spinal, muscle and joint problems, and have an interest in treating sports injuries. Whilst in England I ran a dedicated sport injury clinic looking after many elite and professional athletes as well as plenty of "weekend warriors!"

I enjoy attending post graduate courses each year, as I still (after all this time) love to learn and these courses provide me with new techniques and methods that keep my approach to patients problems fresh.

I really enjoy my job and never mind going to work. I see patients of all ages and from all walks of life. I love the variety of patients I work with and still get a kick out of helping people feel pain free again!

I am happily married and have four children, three daughters and one son.

I love sport, (both playing and watching) and the outdoors. I enjoy mountain biking, soccer, squash and golf. When time permits I love hiking and camping with the family.

Margot Le Breton

M.Ost (Ost)

I was born in Paris, France.  I studied medicine in Paris for two years before deciding I would rather be an osteopath than a doctor.

I moved to Maidstone in the UK to follow my dream and study to be an osteopath.  I graduated from the European School of Osteopathy where I received an integrated Masters degree with first class honours.

I like all sorts of sports and I am a keen swimmer and horse rider.  I have recently developed an interest in yoga, pilates and meditation.  I am also passionate about nutrition and cooking.

I am always looking to learn and find solutions to help patients get great results with my treatment.

I am looking forward to the challenge of working in a busy multi practitioner clinic like Evans Osteopaths and I can’t wait to discover all the wonderful opportunities Hawkes Bay and New Zealand offers.

I am 100% committed to getting the best results possible for my patients.  I am looking forward to meeting and treating you!  à bientôt!

Cari Pellard

M.Ost (Ost)

I am from South Wales and studied at Swansea University where I graduated with a Masters in Osteopathy degree in 2014. I first experienced Osteopathy as a teenager after a fall from my horse left me with severe lower back and neck pain. After successful treatment with an osteopath I always had Osteopathy in mind as a career choice. I am still a keen showjumper (even after multiple falls!) and love to be outdoors preferably skiing, running or on a mountain bike! Since qualifying I have worked between two busy clinics in South Wales alongside a number of respected osteopaths. I have a keen interest in professional development and in particular the use of osteopathy in the treatment of headaches. I completed my master’s dissertation on the effectiveness of osteopathy for migraine headaches. I love my job and I thrive off helping my patients gain a healthier and more active lifestyle. New Zealand is a beautiful country, and am very grateful to have the opportunity to move here and work at Evans Osteopaths.

Matthew Judge

B.Ost (Hons)

Matthew grew up in the U.K. and trained at the highly reputable European School of Osteopathy, where he obtained a first class honours degree.

He uses a wide variety of techniques, from manipulative to cranial, and has a particular interest in treating sports injuries, headaches, as well as babies, children and pregnant women.

Matthew comments, "I look holistically at every individual, not just at the area of pain. By taking time to listen and assess an individual’s function, the root cause can be identified and treated - facilitating recovery as well as preventing recurrence. In addition, I am passionate about empowering patients through effective exercise advice and helping them understand their condition."

Joad Shaban

M.Ost

I grew up in England and Dubai, and studied at Leeds Beckett University, where I graduated with a Masters of Osteopathy in 2016. I strongly believe that all treatments should be patient-centred and tailor-made for each individual person to ensure the best outcome.

I am always keen to increase my knowledge and learn about the latest developments in Osteopathy as it is continuously evolving. I have a particular interest in cranial osteopathy, kinesiology taping and sport trauma management. For my final year dissertation, I conducted a research study on the effects of kinesiology tape on muscle contraction.

Since qualifying, I have worked in several clinics in the UK. I also supported athletes at the British athletic championships, as well as working pitch-side for School Rugby in Gloucester and Amersham and Chiltern RFC over the past two seasons.

Outside of work, I am interested in travelling, meeting new people and discovering different cultures, particularly their cuisine! I also have a love for sports, including skiing, scuba diving and watch rugby at every opportunity I get.
